NAMI Highlands is Family

    • NAMI-VIRGINIA and it's 26 local affiliates across the state
    • NAMI - (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) began in 1979 and now has more than 145,000 families nationwide

We Offer A Spirit of Support

We are a self-help group. Our purpose is to eradicate mental illness and to improve the quality of life of persons affected by these diseases.

We Offer

  • Support in coping with the needs of our family members
  • Education to increase the understanding of mental illness and to eliminate the stigma of mental illness
  • Advocacy for:
    • Integrated services such as treatment, community support and rehabilitation
    • Research into the causes and treatments of severe mental illnesses

NAMI Highlands always meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings alternate between the Lighthouse Clubhouse, 101 Solar St in Bristol, VA at 6 PM on odd months (Jan, March, May, July, Sept., Nov.) and Highlands House, 27018 Lee Hwy (north of Abingdon) in Abingdon, VA on even months (Feb., April, June, Aug., Oct., Dec.).
